Transgender endocrinology is a dynamic and evolving landscape with significant challenges for patients and treating clinicians. Year 2024 has seen some significant changes including policy reforms, evolving evidence and legal challenges. World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) has updated its standards of care, reflecting the latest clinical and scientific evidence. These guidelines provide crucial recommendations on hormonal therapies and surgical interventions, aiming to enhance the quality of care for transgender individuals. Whilst NHS has ceased support for routine use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for minors; legal battles over access to gender-affirming care have intensified in the US. This session will focus on various scientific and other developments in the field of transgender medicine in last 12 months.
